A new deli is planned for a developing shopping center on Daniel Island.

The DI Deli & Market has leased a corner unit at the Central Island Square mixed-use development, according to Carolina Retail Experts, who represented the landlord in the lease.

A business of the same name was registered to a Christian Buck in November of last year. No further details have been made public about plans for the restaurant.

Central Island Square is a mixed-use development constructed by real estate firm Faison in partnership with Choate Construction. It contains 317 apartment units and 28,894 SF of street retail. Ground broke on the site in 2016 and was completed in 2018. In 2020, the complex was purchased by Commercial Realty Corporation for almost $92M, according to reporting by Post and Courier.

The DI Deli & Market will occupy the space at the corner of Central Island Drive and Island Park Drive, next to Par Paradise, a forthcoming golf simulator business. Existing tenants in the center include Viva Tacos & Tequila, The New York Butcher Shoppe, The Medical University of South Carolina, Beech, Michael’s Barkery, iCryo, and Crescent Eye Care.

A timeline for the opening of DI Deli & Market has not been announced.
