A new Italian restaurant is set to open in Mount Pleasant, described in a Facebook post as the area’s “newest hot spot.”

Owned by Brian Piesner, who also operates Coastal Crust and Vintage Coffee Cafe, Giannone Eatery and Italian Market marks his latest addition to a growing local restaurant portfolio.

Coastal Crust is a family-friendly pizzeria known for its wood-fired pizzas, fresh ingredients and relaxed coastal atmosphere. Originally a popular food truck, it has grown into a brick-and-mortar restaurant serving Neapolitan-style pies, seasonal salads and craft beer. Vintage Coffee Cafe, meanwhile, offers a laid-back, beachy vibe with a menu focused on fresh coffee, breakfast favorites and light lunch options.

“Enjoying a quality meal with family and friends has been the framework of our business. We pride ourselves on delivering an unforgettable experience,” Coastal Crust’s website reads.

The new restaurant will feature a wine and charcuterie bar along with a bakery component, according to CHS Happenings. Its Facebook page lists the concept as a “sandwich shop,” “restaurant” and “wine bar.” It also appears the menu will feature housemade bread.

“We are looking for an enthusiastic kitchen manager who loves making bread, lots and lots of bread, for our newest concept Giannone Eatery & Italian Market,” a post shared on September 15 read.

While an official opening date has not been announced, stay tuned on Instagram or Facebook.

What Now Charleston reached out to the Giannone Eatery and Italian Market team, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
