Downtown Charleston will welcome a new Italian restaurant this spring.
V Modern Italian, a new concept from Fast Fine Restaurant Group, is set to open in the Greystar building at 465 Meeting St., the company announced in a press release.
The restaurant group, founded by friends Benjamin Calleja and Christian Lagerlof, is based in Madrid and Stockholm.
V Modern Italian in Charleston marks the group’s second U.S. debut, following last year’s opening in Nashville. Expansion continues with a Tampa location listed as “coming soon” on the company’s website.
The “V” in the name, a nod to the Roman numeral five, reflects the restaurant’s goal of engaging all five senses during the dining experience.
“From the scent of the stone oven to the rhythm of a DJ-curated soundtrack, every detail is intentionally layered to create a fully immersive experience that transports guests beyond the table,” the release read.

The new restaurant aims to combine culinary innovation with authentic Italian flavors. The Charleston menu is being developed with Michelin-starred chef Stefano Ciotti and will feature antipasti, house-made pastas, wood-fired entrees and curated main courses highlighting local Lowcountry ingredients.
Guests can enjoy a curated cocktail menu and a selection of European wines designed to complement the dishes.
An official opening date has not been announced, but V Modern Italian will hold a hiring fair Thursday, March 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
