A new tapas and wine destination is set to open in downtown Savannah early this year.
SELA, the latest concept from Daniel Reed Hospitality, will open at 250 Bull St. on the garden level of a townhouse, according to the restaurant’s website.
Founded in 2007, the hospitality group operates several restaurants, including Local 11ten, Perch, Public Kitchen & Bar, Soho South, Artillery and Franklin’s. SELA will soon join the portfolio.
“Every bite and sip is a tribute to Spain’s culinary heritage, reimagined with passion! Named for ‘Sueños Envuelven, Los Aromas’ (Dreams enveloped in aromas). At SELA, we don’t just serve food and wine; we craft experiences where aromas ignite memories and shared plates become stories,” the website reads.
The menu will highlight seasonal, locally sourced ingredients prepared using Old World techniques. Inspired by European all-day cafes, offerings will include small plates, daily specials and, of course, dessert.
Guests, or their taste buds, may already know the chefs behind the operation. Marco Quiroz and Jake Rogers of Local 11ten will lead the kitchen at SELA.
Quiroz, who grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, and later lived in South Florida, brings experience and deep knowledge of classic Latin American fare. Rogers, a native of New Hampshire’s seacoast, began his kitchen career at 18 and has been working his way up ever since. He moved to Savannah in 2021 to join Local 11ten as executive chef, an Instagram post read.
The duo will prepare everything from scratch in small batches.
A curated wine list will be overseen by sommelier Caleb Poppell, alongside a selection of craft beers and non-alcoholic beverages.
Poppell told What Now Charleston SELA plans to debut in February or March 2026, though no official opening date has been announced. Visit the website and follow along on Instagram for updates.
