An ice cream shop will add another scoop to Charleston next year as it prepares to open a second storefront.
Off Track Ice Cream, owned by Marc and Alissa Zera, is debuting at 1054 Montague E. Ave. in Park Circle, according to an Instagram post.
“After 6 incredible years at our first scoop shop on 6 Beaufain Street downtown, we’re officially expanding. Thank you for all the love, Charleston — more scoops coming SUMMER 2026 to 1054 E Montague Ave!” the post read.
The ice cream shop grew out of a creative hobby that began with making small-batch flavors at home. The owners started their journey in 2016, set their sights on a brick-and-mortar in 2017, and saw the dream become reality in June 2019 with their first downtown location, according to the shop’s website.
Off Track makes its ice cream from scratch using Lowcountry-sourced ingredients with no artificial flavoring, additives or stabilizers. The traditional lineup uses cream, cane sugar, and local eggs and milk, while the vegan flavors rely on raw cashews, organic coconut cream, organic avocado oil and cane sugar.
“Our philosophy on ice cream is different from other ice cream makers: we believe that ice cream should only be made from, and tastes best when it’s made from, natural and fresh ingredients and stripped back of any and all inessential ingredients,” the website reads.
Traditional ice cream standouts include chocolate chip cookie dough, espresso chip, peanut butter pie, dirty chai cake, bourbon eggnog and gingerbread, key lime pie and salted pretzel toffee. Vegan standouts include brown sugar oatmilk and cookies, cookie monster, salted caramel stracciatella, fluffernutter blondie and chocolate s’mores.
Off Track also offers sundaes, milkshakes, floats, coffee and tea, along with cookies, bars and breads.
