Masa, a new Japanese restaurant and sushi concept by Chucktown Asian Restaurant Group, will be opening in Goose Creek at the former Sushi 101 space.
“We’re planning to bring real sushi to the Charleston area,” owner Justen Liu told What Now Charleston. “We’ll have top quality family-style sushi, as well as an omakase offering.”
Pricing for the regular menu will range from $8-$35. The omakase experience, in which patrons will leave the order details up to the chef, will include 7-8 courses and will be around $125 per person.
Chucktown Asian Restaurant Group owns a number of brands throughout South Carolina, including Kanji Sushi Hibachi and Burnin 99. “We only do Asian cuisine – sushi, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Hawaiian poke, boba tea,” Liu added.
Masa is slated to open in around three months, with another location planned for The Marketplace at Carnes Crossroads – a new shopping center in the works for Goose Creek.
