A family-owned specialty coffee shop and roaster from Savannah, Georgia, is expanding to South Carolina.
Origin Coffee Bar is working on its second location, which will be on Hilton Head Island.
Elise and Matt Higgins founded Origin Coffee Bar, which began as a mobile coffee bar in 2020 before they started their first long-term pop-up location in a shared space. Their flagship brick-and-mortar café opened in downtown Savannah with a full kitchen and roastery in 2023.
Now, they are branching out into a second location, in the works now at 35 Main Street. The new shop will be a full-service café with brunch, with some of the popular menu items from the flagship location, such as the Southern Frost (an orange cardamom flat white). Elise Higgins told What Now Charleston there will also be some slight variations and new options on the menu.
For the design of the space, Origin Coffee Bar partnered with J. Banks Design Group, a firm based on Hilton Head Island. Expect cozy spaces and pops of green.
They are currently wrapping up construction on the new space, then they will begin training team members. As of now, they are hoping to open in about three months.
