A new Panda Express is planned as part of a forthcoming shopping center in Beaufort.

Developers recently announced that the Chinese restaurant chain would be joining the list of tenants in Beaufort Station, which is slated to open next summer at Robert Smalls Parkway and Parris Island Gateway. The 200,000-square-foot development will also include Aldi, Home Goods, PetSmart, TJ Maxx, Hobby Lobby, Chicken Salad Chick and more.

This will be the first Panda Express location in Beaufort, though there are four locations in nearby Charleston and two in Myrtle Beach. The chain currently operates nearly 2,300 restaurants in the United States, with 16 total in South Carolina.

No opening date has been set, but the shopping center is expected to complete construction next summer.
