A fast-casual Surfside Beach pizzeria could be expanding to the Myrtle Beach International Airport.

According to a WMBF News report, the Horry County Infrastructure and Regulation Committee has approved an ordinance allowing the county administrator to negotiate a lease agreement to bring Pizza Hyena to the airport.

Founded in 2019 by Dining & Design president Nate Anderson, Pizza Hyena is known for its “wild-fired” flatbread pizzas, wings, and sandwiches.

Dining & Design is the parent company of several local eateries, including Gracious Pig Smokehouse and Chimichanga Llama Cantina. Anderson also created and co-owns the popular Nacho Hippo concept, which began in 2010 and now boasts three locations, one of which is at the airport.

The proposal is now headed to Horry County Council, where it must pass three rounds of voting for approval.

If the lease is approved, Pizza Hyena will be part of the Concourse A terminal expansion, which is expected to be completed in December 2025. Keep an eye out for updates.
