A popular Charleston coffee shop that began on wheels is brewing up growth this fall with a new location.
Prophet Coffee, owned by Bryson and Savanna Purcell, will open at 194 Jackson St., taking over the former Bar Rollins space.
“A 2ND PROPHET LOCATION IS COMING TO DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON IN THE OLD BELOVED @barrollins SPACE. SET TO OPEN OCTOBER 2025,” the coffee shop shared via Instagram.
The duo launched Prophet Coffee in March 2023, serving the Charleston area from a 1996 Subaru van. Just a few months later, they opened their first brick-and-mortar location on 4411 Spruill Ave.
“A coffee van turned brick and mortar in 7 months. It grew pretty fast, and they haven’t looked back since. Good things come to those who grind,” the shop’s website reads.
The coffee shop offers pour-overs, drip coffee, coconut cold brew, regular cold brew, double shots and kids’ lattes, along with seasonal specialty drinks. For a quick bite, patrons can enjoy gluten-free sweet corn loaf or overnight oats. According to a recent Instagram post, the cafe is also launching a new pastry program.
While it’s unclear if the new location will follow suit, the original outpost serves beer and wine on site and operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and weekends from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For updates, visit the shop’s website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook.
