Charleston’s coffee-van-turned-brick-and-mortar Prophet Coffee is moving into a new and expanded space, owners Savanna and Bryson Purcell announced on Instagram.

Prophet will take over at 4427 Spruill Avenue in North Charleston, with a planned opening date by the middle of this summer. The site used to be occupied by Wind and Waves Brewing.

“With this new space, we will be able to expand our offerings, host exciting events and continue creating an inspiring, refreshing space to come together,” the business wrote on Instagram. Prophet is also taking donations over Venmo or offering coffee donation packages to support the “buildout” of the new space.

Prophet, which started as a mobile shop in 2023 from a 1996 Subaru, quickly moved into 4411 Spruill Ave after seven months of business. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 7 A.M. until 1 P.M. and on the weekends from 8 A.M. until 2 P.M.

The Purcell’s have also applied for an on-site beer and wine permit for the new space, according to a city notice.
