Roxa Dessert Bar, famed for its popular sweet pop-ups, will open its first permanent location this spring.

Owned by Heather Hutton, the dessert shop will open at 1296 Yeamans Hall Road in Hanahan, according to an Facebook post.

“We’ve been working on something very, very big. We’re so excited for our new brick-and-mortar. This is going to be where all the magic happens. We’re going to have our dessert bar nightly. We still have some work to do, so hang in there,” Hutton said via Facebook.

Roxa, which launched in downtown Charleston in 2024, reimagines desserts by “blending cultures, sparking awe and breaking rules.” The shop serves its acclaimed six-course dessert tasting menu, along with cakes and gluten-free options. Custom creations, including ice cream cakes in flavors such as chocolate caramel miso, ube and mango, and Oreo salted caramel, are also available.

Hutton’s hobby of creating treats for family and friends quickly grew into a passion, leading her to earn a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from Johnson & Wales, according to the website.

After receiving local and national acclaim as executive pastry chef at Edmund’s Oast in 2016, she’s now ready to launch her own dessert destination.

Roxa Dessert Bar hasn’t announced an official opening date, but check the website and follow Instagram and Facebook for buildout updates.
