A go-to gas station and convenience store is adding a new spot, leaning into its motto of “Making Life Easier.”
Spinx will open a new location at 514 Boone Hill Road in Summerville. Construction has not yet begun, but plans call for breaking ground in the third quarter of this year, a spokesperson told What Now Charleston.
The South Carolina-based chain is known for its fried chicken, served original or spicy, bone-in, or as tenders and nuggets. It also offers family meals and party platters, including oven-roasted chicken, fried chicken livers and gizzards.
Customers can pair their meals with sides such as potato wedges, green beans, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, french fries and fried okra. Other offerings include grilled cheese sandwiches, pork chops, corndogs and snack wraps. Breakfast items, served in the morning, include biscuits, sandwiches and wraps with hash browns.
Spinx was founded by Stewart Spinks, a former Shell Oil Co. employee who opened his first gas station at Laurens Road and East Washington Street in Greenville. The company is now led by CEO Steve Spinks.
Spinx operates more than 80 stores across South Carolina. In 2020, it launched a food truck called the Cluk Truck, and in 2024, it introduced Spinx Market and Eatery, offering fresh, artisanal food alongside grab-and-go options.
An official debut date has not yet been announced.
