A new Starbucks may soon be headed to Myrtle Beach’s The Market Common at 4017 Deville St, though nothing is set in stone just yet.
On August 13, 2024, project developers presented amended plans for MarketWalk to the Myrtle Beach City Council, including space for 189 homes, townhouses, bungalows, and a potential Starbucks, according to The Sun News.
Starbucks already has over 30 locations in South Carolina, with more on the way in areas like Lady’s Island, Bluffton, Nexton, Conway, and Mount Pleasant. The coffee giant is known for its wide variety of coffee beverages and tasty treats.
Council members have not yet voted on the revised plan, and official discussions will take place in a future meeting. The MarketWalk project has been a topic of ongoing debate, with last year’s proposal for over 200 rental units in the area being rejected by a 5-2 vote, partly due to strong opposition from local residents.
The updated plan proposes slightly fewer homes and is described as the final piece in the Market Common master plan “puzzle.”
Stay tuned for more details as they emerge.
