A beloved Myrtle Beach restaurant is set to reopen this winter.
Sun City Cafe, owned by Tracey Rae Palmer and Carry Boyles, is located at 801 Main St. and temporarily closed last year for renovations, according to a Facebook post.
“Exciting news! Construction is nearly complete, and Sun City Cafe will be reopening very soon,” the post read.
The cafe is known for its “Myrtle-mex” cuisine, featuring fresh salsa made daily, gluten-free chips from yellow corn tortillas, and a playful nod to American cheese, with the motto: “Why? Because it tastes so darn good.”
Menu highlights include the customer favorite, the Sun City Chicken, braised chicken served over a bed of rice, smothered in spinach sauce and topped with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. The cafe also offers tacos, burritos and quesadillas, with options for vegans and vegetarians, including a black bean taco and a potato burrito.
“Get ready to enjoy your favorite dishes, fresh flavors, and the warm atmosphere you’ve been missing. Don’t forget the amazing Margaritas!” the post continued.
Sun City Cafe has not announced an official reopening date, but visit the website and follow along on Facebook for updates.
