A cottage bakery in Moncks Corner is gearing up to open its first brick-and-mortar location.
Stirred By God will set up shop at 623 Rembert C Dennis Blvd, transforming a vacant office space into a snug storefront.
Co-owner Marsha Mixon told What Now Charleston that she and her daughter Katie Campbell are excited to expand their successful bakery, offering a convenient spot for customers to pick up their beloved baked goods.
The mother-daughter duo baked their first sourdough loaf at the end of January 2024. In less than a year, they’ve transformed their passion for bread into a “thriving small business that’s deeply rooted in faith and community,” regularly participating in local farmers’ markets and events.
Known for its “meticulously crafted sourdough creations,” each ingredient at Stirred By God is “measured with love to ensure perfect flavor and texture.” In addition to the signature artisan sourdough breads, the bakery now offers pretzels, cinnamon buns, scones, and cookies.
Though the space is under 200 square feet, Marsha assures that it will pack a punch. “It’s a small space with a big kick!” she remarked. The storefront will focus on pick-up orders and in-store shopping, creating an easy, grab-and-go stop for those craving a tasty treat.
While there won’t be an on-site baking facility, customers can expect a weekly rotation of favorites like the Artisan Sourdough Country Loaf, Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls, and Sourdough Brown Butter Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies, along with seasonal specialties.
Additionally, the Stirred By God storefront will feature products from local vendors, including pepper jelly, jams, and unique sourdough-themed items.
Marsha and Katie are in the process of securing town office approvals for their new storefront. Following the necessary inspections, they will share the details of the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Stirred By God is also competing in The Greatest Baker contest for a chance to win $20,000. This funding would help establish a dedicated sourdough bakery—separate from the storefront—in Moncks Corner.
“With the $20,000 prize, I could take the next big step toward creating a place where our community can gather, enjoy fresh bread, and share in something special,” Marsha explained.
Each week, Stirred By God will post updates with the voting link. After voting, participants can enter a weekly drawing for delicious sourdough prizes by commenting on the post and sharing the number of votes cast.
For the latest updates on both the storefront and the contest, be sure to follow the Stirred By God Facebook page.
“We love our community and want to help it be the best it can be,” said Marsha. “Adding the first and only exclusive sourdough bakery that never compromises by using commercial yeast is a huge step in the right direction.”
