Fogo de Chão is headed to Crabtree Valley Mall at 4325 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, where the Brazilian steakhouse chain is expected to open in late 2026, according to the Triangle Business Journal.

The restaurant will occupy the former Uncle Julio’s space at the shopping center, filling an 8,438-square-foot vacancy that has remained empty for several years. As reported by the Business Journal, the Raleigh restaurant represents another step in the brand’s expansion across North Carolina.

Founded in Southern Brazil in 1979, Fogo de Chão offers a traditional churrasco dining experience centered on fire-roasted meats carved tableside by gaucho chefs, according to the company’s website. Guests can also enjoy a Market Table featuring salads, charcuterie, cheeses, and seasonal offerings, along with wine, cocktails, and desserts.

“Raleigh’s continued growth and Crabtree’s position as one of the region’s leading shopping and dining destinations makes it an ideal location for our continued expansion,” CEO Barry McGowan said in a release.

The Raleigh location is part of a broader North Carolina expansion for the brand. As reported by the Triangle Business Journal, Fogo de Chão has also submitted plans for a location at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham. The publication further reports that the company’s first North Carolina restaurant is expected to open this August at 200 South Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte.

Fogo de Chão joins a growing roster of new tenants at Crabtree Valley Mall as owner Macerich continues a $60 million investment in improvements to the property. According to the publication, other recent additions include Level99, JD Sports, an escape room concept and Five Guys.
