Mac’s Speed Shop has plans to expand to Fort Mill by the end of this year, but expansion plans for the company do not end there.
Mac’s Hospitality president Tony Salerno shared in an interview with What Now Charlotte that they have a site in the works in Mooresville. They have plans to open that one after the Fort Mill location opens. Salerno said they aim to open in Mooresville by the end of 2026.
Currently, Mac’s Speed Shop has locations in South End and Steele Creek, as well as spots in Greenville, Matthews, Concord Mills, Lake Norman, Fayetteville, Greensboro and Raleigh.
Mac’s Speed Shop is known for its barbecue options such as pulled pork and St. Louis pork ribs. Other menu items include Southern favorites like catfish, cornmeal shrimp and chicken and waffles.
Mac’s Hospitality has several other concepts in its portfolio, including SouthBound and The Music Yard. A new SouthBound location is expected to open in Fort Mill in 2026.
Mac’s Hospitality will continue to expand in the future. Salerno said they are looking to shift focus from Charlotte to the Raleigh market after the Mooresville location opens.
“We feel really good where we are in the Charlotte market. We’ll be looking at expanding our brand into the Raleigh market,” Salerno previously told What Now Charlotte. “We feel that that’s a strong market to continue our expansion around the suburbs of that city as we did in Charlotte.”
