Nashville-based Ladybird Taco is taking over the Lebowski’s Neighborhood Grill space in Dilworth at 1524 East Blvd, according to an announcement on the Lebowski’s Instagram page.

“It is with a heavy heart we announce the closing of Lebowski’s, effective immediately. We would like to thank our many loyal employees and customers for their support over the years,” the statement reads.

Ladybird Taco serves Texas-style breakfast and lunch tacos, as well as made-from-scratch tortillas and a full coffee program.

Gabe Scott and Andrew Wiseheart founded the brand in 2020. The first location opened in Nashville, followed by a spot in Birmingham, Ala. The third location for Ladybird Taco opened last year in East Nashville.

“We are incredibly honored to step into a space that has meant so much to this community,” Brooks Veazey, CEO of Ladybird Taco, said in the statement. “Lebowski’s was a place where friends and neighbors could come together over great food and drinks, and we are excited to carry on that tradition in our own unique way.”

This location will be Ladybird Taco’s first spot in the Charlotte market. The brand has been taking steps toward future expansion. What Now recently reported that another location for Ladybird Taco is currently in development in the Nashville market.

As of now, a timeline for opening at the former Lebowski’s space has not been revealed.
