Charlotte residents will soon have access to a new approach to health and wellness when STAT Wellness opens its first Queen City location this August.
According to the Charlotte Business Journal, the Atlanta-based company is preparing to open a 5,000-square-foot facility at Middblock South End, located at 2401 Distribution Street.
Founded by nurse practitioner Kristin Oja in 2019, Stat Wellness combines functional medicine with fitness and recovery services.
“What excites me most is bringing an entirely new approach to healthcare and wellness to Charlotte,” Oja told WhatNow Charlotte. “At STAT Wellness, we combine the best practices of functional medicine with strength training. Whether you decide to join us à la carte or become a member, you have access to functional medicine, physical therapy, health coaching, dietitians, and strength training—all under one roof.”
The concept is designed to bring multiple health and wellness disciplines together in one place, giving members access to both clinical care and fitness-focused services.
“We’re creating a space where people can proactively invest in their health, not just react when something goes wrong,” Oja said. “My hope is that Charlotte sees us as a true partner in helping people live longer, healthier, and more vibrant lives.”
For the company’s Charlotte debut, Oja said finding a location that reflected the surrounding community was a key priority.
“One of the unique things about STAT Wellness is that all of our locations look and feel different,” she said. “Our goal is to fit into the community we are opening in, and from the moment we walked the space, it felt like home.”
She added that South End’s character made it a natural fit for the brand.
“The Middblock development feels like South End. And we picked South End, with it being one of the most vibrant, fast-growing communities in Charlotte,” Oja said. “The walkability, energy, and sense of community perfectly align with our mission. We wanted to be where people are already prioritizing an active lifestyle, and Middblock allows us to become part of that daily routine in a meaningful way.”
According to the Charlotte Business Journal, the South End location will be STAT Wellness’ seventh brick-and-mortar facility, joining existing locations in Atlanta, Charleston, and Nashville.
