The Cattle Car, a new neighborhood burger joint offering old-school vibes and new-school flavor, is preparing to debut in Clover at 111 N. Main St.

The new restaurant is the latest from Ian Terhune and Justin Mcfalls, two locals who wanted to bring more quality business to the area. The Cattle Car will move into the former home of Water Tank later this year, although an exact opening date is hard to say. The owners celebrated the start of the new year with pouring concrete at the site, according to the company’s social media. Initially, this concept was slated to open in the first quarter of 2025, but it will hopefully open by summer.

Justin owns and operates several successful businesses, including one of the area’s most prominent plumbing and HVAC companies, Queen City Heating and Air & Plumbing. He has long dreamed of bringing delicious dining options to his hometown, with the goal of making Clover a destination for residents. Through his various experiences, Justin has learned the importance of hard work and integrity, regardless of the circumstances. He understands what it takes for businesses to succeed and thrive.

Ian has been a restaurateur since his early teen years and has served as the opening operator for dozens of restaurants and concepts. His passion for mixing flavors and creating delicious dishes sets him apart in the culinary world. Ian has appeared on The Food Network and The Travel Channel, showcasing his irresistible burgers. He is also the original owner and operator of Hoof & Barrel in York, SC. Before establishing this small-town eatery, Ian was a founding operator and one of the partners at Moo & Brew in Charlotte, NC. He has also opened and operated BT’s Burger Joint in Steele Creek, Indian Trail, Asheville, and other neighborhoods in Charlotte.

“When Justin, born and raised in Clover, saw the downtown buildings were for sale, he had a big plan and dream to bring quality businesses to our town,” according to the company’s Instagram. “He has had the dream of bringing delicious eateries to his hometown with hopes of making Clover a destination spot for our locals for quite some time. Justin is a family man and desires for Clover to be a place for families to spend quality time gathered around the table to eat. He is an advocate for supporting local and does his best to support small businesses every chance that he can get. With his direction and leadership, along with Ian’s expertise in the restaurant business, The Cattle Car is sure to be a successful and longstanding part of our community.”
