Casa Gaia is expected to open this summer at 1511 Central Ave. in Charlotte’s Plaza Midwood neighborhood. The wellness concept will occupy the former Pranayama House Healing Center space and is targeting an August 1 opening, according to Axios Charlotte. WhatNow Charlotte reached out for additional information but did not receive a reply by the time of publication.
Founder Sofia Paloma describes Casa Gaia as Charlotte’s first dedicated sound healing studio and believes it could also be the first of its kind in North Carolina, according to Axios Charlotte. The studio also plans to host workshops and breathwork sessions alongside its regular programming, expanding its offerings beyond sound healing and movement classes.
The approximately 1,300-square-foot studio will feature Moroccan, Indian and Egyptian-inspired design elements with handcrafted details. Axios Charlotte reports the space is designed to offer an immersive, sound-focused environment that feels more like a welcoming global lounge than a traditional wellness studio.
Programming will center on daily sound healing sessions using instruments such as crystal singing bowls and Tibetan bowls to support relaxation and overall well-being. The studio also plans to offer yoga, sculpt, mat Pilates and prenatal classes, according to the publication.
According to Casa Gaia’s Instagram page, the concept also plans to introduce membership options and retreat experiences after opening.
