Level99, the interactive entertainment concept known for its challenge rooms, duels, and social gaming experiences, has announced plans to open its first North Carolina location at Crabtree Valley Mall, located at 4325 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, according to Level99’s website.
The new venue is expected to open in 2027 and will occupy approximately 40,000 square feet, bringing more than 50 physical and mental challenge experiences alongside dining, drinks, and event space.
“Raleigh is one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic markets in the country, making it a natural fit for our next phase of expansion,” founder and CEO Matt DuPlessie said in the company’s announcement. “We’re excited to bring Level99’s unique social entertainment experience to the Triangle,” he said.
Founded in Massachusetts, Level99 offers a blend of team-based challenge rooms, competitive duels, and technology-driven gameplay designed to encourage repeat visits. Guests earn points by completing a variety of physical and mental challenges, creating what the company describes as a real-world gaming experience.
According to their website, the Raleigh location will mark the company’s first entry into North Carolina and continues a broader national expansion effort. The concept has increasingly targeted large-format retail spaces, particularly within shopping centers undergoing redevelopment.
At Crabtree, Level99 is set to become part of an ongoing transformation led by mall owner Macerich, which has focused on introducing experiential tenants to complement traditional retail offerings.
“We’ve had our eye on Raleigh for years,” DuPlessie added. “The energy, growth, and sense of community make it an ideal market for Level99.”
