A Chicago Italian Restaurant’s Five-Year Run Is Entering Its Final Days

Segnatore announces closure after 5 years of service and will serve its final meal on May 16.

Segnatore on California Avenue in Chicago is preparing to close. According to a recent announcement, the restaurant will serve its final meal on May 16. Inspired by Italian cooking, the restaurant serves a mix of Italian and Midwestern dishes, including homemade pastas.

Chicago’s Segnatore to Close After Five Years

Iconic Italian restaurant Segnatore will permanently shut down after serving the community for five years. The restaurant combines Italian cooking with Midwestern ingredients. Popular items on the menu include Freestyle Lasagna, Smoked Tri-Tip Steak, and Ricotta Gnocchi.

Through an Instagram post, the restaurant team shared, “We anticipate our last service to be Saturday, May 16th.”

The team also thanked the community for its support. They wrote, “We are so thankful for our neighbors, regulars, and most of all our team members who have made the last 5 years something truly special.”

Located in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, Segnatore blends traditional flavors with modern techniques. The space features dark green walls and a cozy, vintage-inspired interior.

One of the customers shared an emotional note, “I’m really sad about this and just want y’all to know how special a place y’all are. After searching for an anniversary place, this was our spot, and the meal, the vibes, and the sweet note made our celebrations so special. Thank you for going above and beyond!”

In the post, the Segnatore team highlighted that it was a difficult decision to make; however, no official reason was disclosed. As the restaurant winds down, the team plans to celebrate its final month with the community.
