A brand new Latin-influenced restaurant called Tabu is making its way to West Loop, located at 401 N. Morgan St.
This is the latest project from Atomic Hospitality Group, which owns other local eateries and event centers such as Untitled Supper Club, Recess, and Morgan MFG. The new 160-seat pan Latin restaurant will move into the former home of The Brass Monkey sometime in May 2022, according to Eater Chicago. Tabu will have Saúl Román of Zocalo and Artango Steakhouse creating the menu, focusing on tacos and other Latin-influenced entrees. On top of the Spanish fare, guests can expect a large selection of agave spirits.
This will become the sixth concept for the Chicago-based hospitality and event group. They hope this new concept will serve as a proving point for their success in the food industry. Despite the Spring opening, Atomic Hospitality Group has already given guests a taste of the new restaurant. Earlier this month, Román took over the Recess kitchen for one night to give guests a taste of the upcoming menu.
This isn’t the only project Atomic Hospitality Group has planned. The group is also working on a rooftop bar that they will unveil later this summer. Not much information has been revealed regarding this other upcoming concept. Either way, both establishments hope to prove the hospitality group goes beyond event centers. Other concepts already in operation by the group include Untitled Supper Club and City Hall.
