A storefront in Lincoln Park may soon be filled with a brand new bubble tea shop, according to a permit application filed with the City of Chicago. The permit, which was filed for and issued on December 29th, is for a “new bubble tea quick service restaurant in existing building on ground floor.” While no changes will be made to the existing HVAC system, new commercial kitchen equipment and distribution are listed as part of the application.
Actually, this storefront is no stranger to the bubble tea business. The new shop is headed to 818 W. Fullerton Avenue, which was once home to a Bee & Tea, the Asian-style bao and boba tea shop from Forever Yogurt founder and CEO Mandy Calara. More recently, 818 W. Fullerton housed Aloha Poke.
The new shop will sit adjacent to the intersection of N. Lincoln and W. Fullerton, sharing the immediate vicinity with Cabos Tacos, Chicago’s Dog House, and Allende Restaurant. A few national chains like Chipotle and Pita Pit can also be found nearby.
No word yet on when the new shop will open, so we suggest you check back in with What Now Chicago for updates.
