Chef Chloe Gould is again bringing American Southern and Southeast Asian cuisine to the city.
A new restaurant for DixiePura from the experienced Chef Gould will be opening in Bronzeville. The restaurant will be going in at 325 E Pershing Road. As of now, the opening date is looking like fall.
Gould has much experience in the culinary industry, being a chef instructor and starting her own culinary services company, DixiePura. Gould said the cuisine will be American Southern food, as well as Southeast Asian cuisine. She has specialized in Southern food over the years and has gained recognition by media including Food Network for winning the Supermarket Stakeout.
The restaurant looks to be taking the location of Potato Potato on E Perishing Road. It is near the intersection of S Martin Luther King Drive, joining restaurants in the neighborhood including Chicago Home of Chicken & Waffles and Pearl’s Place Restaurant. There are still permits and construction that Gould has to figure out before opening.
Some of the services DixiePura provides include culinary classes for children, personal chef services and catering. Gould’s cooking inspiration partly came from Singapore where she learned about Asian cuisine. She is described as a “food translator” for incorporating international flavors into dishes.
