A national ice cream franchise is bringing the company’s success to the western suburbs.
It is being reported Dumont Creamery and Cafe’s newest location is coming to the Block 59 area in Naperville. An exact address has not been released, but it will join other dining options like First Watch, Lazy Dog and Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Co-owner and franchisee Vamsi Manne told What Now Chicago the team is looking to open the ice cream spot around late July.
Manne is partnering with co-franchisee Sai Uppalapati, who also lives in the Greater Chicago area. A local photographer in the area, Manne shoots for events like weddings and birthdays. The two have been looking to bring the ice cream spot to Naperville for a while, and when they heard about the anticipated Block 59 development, they knew it would be a great fit for their business.
“We’ve been searching for a good location, this parking lot showed up and we got lucky,” Manne said.
The India-based ice cream company was founded in 1999 in Hyderabad. Now, the brand has grown to over 50 locations in India and all around the U.S., mainly in Texas, as well as Georgia, California, Arkansas and Ohio. This is their first expansion into Illinois.
U.S. locations offer scoops, sips and brews. A few signature ice cream flavors include mint chocolate chip, festive cake, filter coffee and butterscotch. Global flavors are also served, such as the min basil sorbet from Italy.
Manne and Uppalapati will be releasing more updates on the opening date in the coming weeks.
