A restaurant and cafe showcasing different cuisines from around the world is coming to Glen Ellyn this fall.

Culture Shock will be a new destination in the village at 874 Roosevelt Road. It will be going in on the south side of the village and is set to offer Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Middle Eastern and South Asian dishes. This has been a project two years in the making.

Owner Muhammad Ausaf said he is hoping to open by the end of September or the first week of October. Plans were approved in February, and right now work is being done on the interior. Looking around at restaurants in the Lombard and Glen Ellyn areas, he wanted to create an option where foods in many different cultures are welcome.

“It encapsulates all of the cultures,” Ausaf told What Now Chicago

The menu is not yet on the website, but different Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine options can be expected. Ausaf said it will focus on one-to-three cuisines from each culture. Right now, the main dishes will be Asian Middle Eastern as well as fusion options.

Along Roosevelt Road, there are many restaurants and businesses. Also in the plaza neighboring Culture Shock are Dragon One Chinese Restaurant, Ellyn’s Tap & Grill, Sarpino’s Pizzeria and Taco Pros Mexican Cocina. It will also be accessible from Baker Hill Drive.

The business also has a reservation service on their website, so those interested can already put their names in. More information on Culture Shock can be found on their website cultureshockusa.com.
