The Bob Evans restaurant located at 4600 International Gateway, inside the John Glenn Columbus International Airport, will soon undergo renovations, according to a recent permit submitted to the city. The permit details work to renovate the seating area of the restaurant as well as an addition of a back door and hallway to connect to a future concept next to the existing restaurant. The proposed work also includes a minor adjustment to the back of house equipment. According to the permit, the projected cost for the renovations is $85,000.
The eatery got its start in Rio Grande, Ohio, when founder Bob Evans opened a small diner with seating for 10 that served hot, homestyle meals. Over 70 years after its founding, Bob Evans Restaurants are now in 18 states, according to information on the eatery’s website.
Today’s Bob Evans menu honors the original hot, homestyle meals, with offerings ranging from a turkey and dressing plate, as well as country fried steak and chicken served grilled or battered and fried, all of which are served with mashed potatoes and gravy and an additional side. Other selections include burgers, a BLT and chicken sandwiches, along with steak dinners and seafood options. There’s also variety of breakfast offerings like pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy and omelets.
