A new eatery is making plans to open in Columbus at 1214 E Main St, city permit documents show. The establishment will be called Somethin Diff’rent and will provide carryout options. According to language in the permit, the work to be performed will include installing new kitchen equipment and sinks in an existing commercial space, but the work isn’t expected to change the existing footprint, include construction or result in a change in HVAC in the space. The total job value for the alterations are projected to cost $8,000, according to the permit filing.

The neighborhood where the proposed carryout eatery will operate doesn’t have many fast casual options currently. There’s a barbecue restaurant, B & K Smokehouse, located in the 1100 block of East Main Street, and Chicago Fish and Chicken is located in the 1500 block of East Main Street, but those are the two closest existing eateries.

What Now Columbus reached out to Somethin Diff’rent to learn what type of menu items will be offered and the anticipated timeline for opening, but a request for comment wasn’t immediately returned.
