As first reported by Dayton Daily News, a new cocktail lounge called Whisperz Speakeasy is making plans to open on Valentine’s Day. The prohibition-era themed establishment is located in West Carrollton, at 926 Watertower Lane next door to Miami Valley Sports Bar.
According to information on Whisperz Speakeasy’s social media, the forthcoming concept will serve “fine hand-crafted cocktails and uniquely designed small plates in a beautifully curated experience reminiscent of yesteryear.” And, per the company’s website, the establishment will operate in an authentic manner of 1920s speakeasies and require guests to give a password for entry.
What Now Columbus spoke with an employee at the speakeasy who shared that the concept is also is owned and operated by the same owner of Miami Valley Sports Bar. According to public records with the Secretary of State, both businesses are filed under the fictitious name registration, and are owned by Miami Valley Indoor Golf, LTD., with the registered agent listed as Julie Ogletree.
What Now Columbus reached out to the ownership for further comment on the concept to learn details such as the seating capacity in the space and more information on the interior decor, but a request for comment was not returned at the time of this article’s publication.
