According to recent reporting, former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal’s chicken chain restaurant, Big Chicken, announced a 36-unit expansion into Ohio. That multi-unit expansion will begin in Columbus, but the opening dates, exact number of units in Columbus, nor their locations have yet to be announced.
Currently, Big Chicken has a location in Dayton, which opened last summer and was the eatery’s first location in Ohio. The 36-unit expansion is being brought forth by four entrepreneurs – Kurt Webb, Ryan Webb, Trever Einerson and Steve Crandall. What Now Columbus reached out for more information about this exciting 36-unit expansion, but didn’t receive comment from the entrepreneurs.
Big Chicken started in 2018 and currently operates locations in 13 states. The menu features a number of chicken sandwiches, including the “Shaq attack,” which is a breaded chicken sandwich topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapeno slaw and chipotle barbecue sauce. Sides range from traditional fries along with sweet potato waffle fries, to baked mac and cheese with a Cheez-It crust. Desserts include ice cream sandwiches, shakes and oversized cookies.
