Coco Hot Pot will soon undergo renovations to expand its location at 743 Bethel Rd, according to a recent permit filing. As detailed in the permit filing, the scope of work is projected to cost $500,000.

What Now Columbus spoke with co-owner Mei Feng Lin who shared some of the details of the renovations. According to Lin, the eatery will expand into the vacant tenant space located next door to its current location. The renovations will include adding larger tables, relocating the bar into the adjacent space and additional cuisine offerings. Although the renovations will add more seating, Lin said the exact number of seats are still being worked out during the permitting phase.

Some of the cuisine offerings will include dim sum and Lin says the Cantonese cuisine is currently hard to find in the Columbus food scene. With the added menu offerings, Lin said the eatery could also undergo a slight rebrand and go by Coco Cuisine, but she stressed that hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

The establishment serves soups like egg drop and tofu vegetable, egg rolls, crab rangoon and fried rice and noodle dishes. As the name would suggest, there’s also a hot pot selection with proteins to choose from including lamb, beef, pork, chicken and seafood, along with a wide array of vegetables such as bamboo shoots, broccoli, kelp and a number of mushrooms.

Currently, the timeline to complete the renovations is December.
