As detailed in a recent article on the website Dayton.com, acai bowl food truck Blended by J is making plans to open its first brick and mortar location. The establishment is coming to 30 N Fountain Ave, in downtown Springfield and is currently slated to open some time this fall.

The Dayton area business is owned by Jillian Tedeschi, who launched the food truck last year and quickly grew a customer following. The brick and mortar will open in the former home of Pretzelmaker, and will be neighbors with Winans Coffee & Chocolates.

Although the business offers a few bowl options, there are plans to expand the menu beyond the four core acai bowls currently offered.

“We’re working to add different bases, such as a dragon fruit base, as well as some surprise bases and a half and half base option.”

She also shared that a recent Hawaii trip sparked ideas for new toppings, so fans of the bowls will want to stay tuned for when those ingredients are added to the brick and mortar menu.

Tedeschi also described additional details about the shop space and aesthetic of the interior. With 1,500 square feet inside and seating for between 20-30 guests, Tedeschi says the decor will be Mid Century modern.

“We’re adding some subway tile and unique light fixtures,” she said.

Tedeschi promises a space that looks very inviting, an earth tone color scheme, along with some eclectic pops of color. Additionally, plans are in place to install bench seating along one wall, which will also include a bank of outlets so guests can charge their devices while they’re in the space.

“I’m also looking for some bright colored couches and leather seating,” she added.

Currently, plans are to open in early fall, but follow the company on Instagram or Facebook to get the full details on the opening timeline.
