A recent permit filing shows that Honest Friend Brewing is making plans to open at 2112 S High St. Plans for the craft beer business have been brewing for a while, as the owners originally planned to open last year at a different location along High Street, at 2140 S High St. According to a recent Instagram video featuring co-owner Chris Carter, construction is expected to start soon, with the goal of opening Honest Friend Brewing by the end of 2024.

According to details in the filing, the renovation plans for the 6,600 square foot building and nearly 500 square foot patio space includes structural, HVAC, plumbing and electrical work, with the projected cost at $1.3 million.

As noted in a 2022 article published on the website 614Now, Honest Friend Brewing is owned by Chris Carter, Kayla Lewis and Will Gutmann. Per the article, the team planned to host food trucks at its outdoor patio at the original location at 2140 S High St, but additional details such as if the brewery will also offer food, host food trucks or how many taps are expected at the forthcoming 2112 S High St location are currently unclear.

What Now Columbus reached out to the brewery for more information, but a request for comment wasn’t immediately returned.
