According to recent reporting, Cento will open soon in German Village in Columbus. The Italian eatery will replace G. Michael’s Bistro & Bar at 595 S 3rd St. According to a recent press release on the eatery’s website, the restaurant plans to open this summer.

Cento is a concept from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, a Columbus-based hospitality company named after entrepreneur and founder Cameron Mitchell. As detailed in the reporting, the eatery’s name means “100” in Italian. The moniker is a reference to the fact that Cento will be Cameron Mitchell’s 100th restaurant.

As detailed in the press release, the Cento atmosphere is described as an intimate Italian-inspired oasis, and guests will enter the eatery through a secret garden that has a glowing fountain, romantic string lights and a large fireplace. The menu will be approachable, yet exclusive, combining centuries-old recipes and local specialties and will include pasta and sauces made by hand, crafted with authentic and seasonal Italian ingredients. Cento will have a rotating selection of Italian-focused wines, as well as cocktails and classic cafe beverages.

“One of my biggest career goals was to open a restaurant in the idyllic German Village neighborhood, and I’m so grateful that our 100th opening will hit that exciting milestone in our company,” said Cameron Mitchell in the press release. “This concept is one I am extremely passionate about and can’t wait to share the magic with my hometown community.”

Other restaurants in the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants portfolio include numerous eateries in the Columbus area like The Avenue Steak Tavern, Budd Dairy Food Hall, DelMar So Cal Kitchen and Lincoln Social Rooftop, as well as eateries in multiple markets across the country including Las Vegas, Naples, Florida, Kansas City, Missouri and Tampa.
