A new Tex-Mex dining destination is preparing to join Downtown Columbus, according to 614 Now.
Ochoa Mexican Grill is slated to open at 113 E Main St., taking over the former Pecan Penny‘s space. The upcoming concept comes from Olde Towne Partners, the ownership group behind Olde Towne Tavern and several other hospitality ventures in the Columbus area.
According to information shared by the company and seen by the publication mentioned above, Ochoa Mexican Grill will offer a fresh take on classic Mexican cuisine, blending traditional flavors with a modern approach. The restaurant is expected to feature a menu centered on familiar Mexican favorites while embracing innovation and vibrant presentation.
The new concept is designed to create a relaxed, social atmosphere. Guests can expect an open-air-inspired dining experience that brings the feel of outdoor dining indoors. The space will include two large patios, multiple fire pits, and plenty of room for gathering over margaritas and shareable dishes.
While an official opening date has not yet been announced, the ownership team is targeting a Summer 2026 debut and expects to reveal a firm opening timeline sometime in July.
The project represents another addition to the growing dining scene in Downtown Columbus, bringing a new option for residents, office workers, and visitors seeking casual Tex-Mex fare in the city center.
Ochoa Mexican Grill has launched a “Coming Soon” webpage where prospective guests can sign up for updates and receive information regarding the restaurant’s opening and future announcements.
What Now Columbus reached out to Olde Towne Partners for additional details regarding the concept and opening timeline, and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
