Olive Garden to Open a Location in Piqua as Part of Scott Drive Project

The completion of the Piqua restaurant would bring the Olive Garden locations in the Dayton area to a total of six.

As first reported by Dayton Business Journal, fast casual Italian restaurant chain Olive Garden is making plans to open a location in Piqua at 902 Scott Dr, as part of a development of a 4-acre site that will also include the construction of a national hotel chain and a Chipotle. The completion of the Piqua restaurant would bring the Olive Garden locations in the Dayton area to a total of six.

It’s not clear what the guest capacity will be at the restaurant, or what the total square footage of the building will be. What Now Columbus reached out to the chain to learn more about the project, but a request for comment was not returned. 

Olive Garden is a part of the Florida-based restaurant group Darden Restaurants, which also includes the brands The Capital Grille, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, among others. The Italian fast casual chain is known for its pasta selections like spaghetti and meatballs, fettucini alfredo, lasagna, salads, soups, appetizers and breadsticks. The menu also includes soft drinks, cocktails and desserts. 

The exact opening timeframe for the Olive Garden isn’t clear, but per information in the Dayton Business Journal article, construction on the Scott Drive development project is slated to begin at the end of this year and be wrapped up by the end of 2025.
