According to a recent permit filing, Torchy’s Tacos will be opening a location at 3726 W Dublin Granville Rd. in north Columbus. As detailed on a site plan obtained by What Now Columbus, the new location will be a 4,200 square foot building that includes a bar, with dining capacity for just over 100 people, along with an outdoor patio with additional seating for 76.

This will be the second location that the Austin-based taco joint has opened in Columbus, with the area’s first Torchy’s Tacos located at 1478 Gemini Place, in Polaris. What Now Columbus reached out to Torchy’s Tacos to get more information about the anticipated opening date, but didn’t receive a response.

Like so many popular restaurants nowadays, Torchy’s began as a humble food truck in Austin, TX in 2006. The brand’s snarky yet playful identity – not to mention its mouthwatering tacos and decadent queso – was a hit with locals both in the city and beyond, such that its footprint has since grown to more than 100 stores across the country.

That success and growth are largely down to the company’s “Damn Good” mantra, which keeps it “constantly innovating to ensure we’re delivering the tastiest tacos, queso, and margaritas in the game.”
