According to recent reporting, Liberty Tavern will soon open two new locations, one at the former home of Mellow Mushroom at 2170 Polaris Parkway in Polaris and an additional location in the 220 acre mixed-use development Beulah Park in Grove City.
The original eatery is located in Powell at 50 S Liberty St. Described as an elevated American tavern, Liberty Tavern was acquired last year by Orange Umbrella Restaurants, a Columbus restaurant group. What Now Columbus spoke with Jordan Helman, CEO of Orange Umbrella Restaurants, who shared that the Polaris location is expected to open some time in the fourth quarter of this year, while Grove City will likely open next spring.
In terms of space, the two additional locations will offer guests as much or more space as the current Powell location with the Polaris eatery coming in at over 5,000 square feet, while the Grove City restaurant will have just over 4,000 square feet, both locations will have patio seating, Helman said.
Liberty Tavern serves appetizers such as wings, loaded tots and spinach artichoke dip, as well as salads, sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken and fish and chips. There’s also a weekend brunch menu with items like French toast, a breakfast burger topped with bacon and a fried egg, along with a cornmeal pancake and chicken tender plate. The drink menu includes cocktails like a bloody mary and espresso martini, plus a wine list and draft beer selection, as well as seltzers and bottle and can beers.
Helman confirmed that each new location will continue to offer weekend brunch and although the exact menus are still under development, guests can expect to find the menu items they know and love from the Powell restaurant, along with dishes specific to each location.
In addition to Liberty Tavern, Orange Umbrella Restaurants owns multiple eateries in the area including Local Cantina, The Rossi Kitchen & Bar, The Go Go and more.
