A successful entrepreneur is expanding options at his restaurant with a new addition.

From Columbus Business First, Yash Kishinchand’s restaurant Rooh is going through a change this year as a morning cafe will be opening at the space, 685 N High Street. This will operate on weekends in the mornings and is to accompany the restaurant. Kishinchand told What Now Columbus the pop-up will last a couple months.

Rooh originally opened in November 2019 as a destination for Indian cuisine with dishes like paneer, chicken kofta biryani and different kinds of naan. The location serves cocktails and wine as well. Kishinchand also opened Flour Modern Pasta Bar at Polaris Fashion Place in 2024, with many kinds of international pastas.

“Classic flavors with a modern beat,” says the description on the Rooh Instagram page.

The cafe’s menu will feature coffees to be expected, with the additions of sweets like matchas and sweets such as a jaggery chocolate chip cookie. Kishinchand expects a popular item to be the lobster croissant. He is keeping with the theme of serving Indian-influenced food items.

Rooh is on the south side of the Short North district, at the corner of W Lincoln Street and across from Brassica. Other concepts in this area include Short North Tavern, O Sweet Tea and Macaron Bar Short North. This is also a short walk from Goodale Park.

The cafe’s hours of operation will be 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Fridays to Sunday. When asked about future ventures, Kishinchand said this is the only new project right now, but he may have additional plans for expansion in the future.
