As detailed in a recent permit filing, the smoothie bowl chain Playa Bowls is on its way to Polaris, at 1515 Gemini Pl. The total cost for the renovations to the existing space is projected at $150,000, per information found in the permit filing.
The chain is operated by franchisees, and the permit filing lists the owner of the Polaris Playa Bowls as Brett Coleman, who is also behind the locations at Dublin and Quarry Trails. What Now Columbus reached out to Coleman who shared that he’s aiming to open the Polaris Playa Bowls some time in early 2025. When it opens, the 1,600-square-foot space will have seating for around 25 to 30 guests.
Playa Bowls features fruit based bowls made from acai, pitaya and banana, as well as smoothies, juice options including fresh and bottled cold-pressed and coffee. Per information found on its website, the franchise started in 2014 in Belmar, New Jersey and has grown to over 200 locations in just a decade.
