A new breakfast and lunch spot is preparing to open in the former Skillet space near German Village, according to 614Now.

The BeckFast Place is planned for 410 E. Whittier St., where it will offer a menu of breakfast and lunch favourites, including breakfast burritos, bagel sandwiches, wraps and salads. The restaurant will also serve espresso and coffee drinks.

Becker Nezballa, who confirmed to WhatNow Columbus that he is the owner of The BeckFast Place, said he has been living in Columbus for nearly seven years and spent about four years searching for a location for his restaurant concept.

Nezballa previously worked at his family’s diner in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, before the business was sold. He plans to bring that same familiar, neighbourhood-diner feeling to The BeckFast Place.

The restaurant will take over the space previously occupied by Skillet, the German Village brunch destination that closed in February after operating for about 15 years.

The BeckFast Place is expected to open in the coming months, although an exact opening date has not yet been announced.

Nezballa confirmed his ownership of the restaurant to the publication but was unable to disclose additional information about the concept or plans at this time.

Updates about the restaurant, including its eventual opening date and menu, are expected to be shared through The BeckFast Place’s social media channels.

WhatNow Columbus will provide additional updates as they become available.
