According to a recent permit filing, another Tropical Smoothie Cafe will soon open in the Columbus area. Per language in the permit application, the work is for interior tenant improvements to the 1,600-square-foot space located at 6843 E Broad St.

Franchisee D’Juan Armstead, who also owns the Tropical Smoothie Cafe location at 2156 E Main St in Bexley shared with What Now Columbus that the Broad Street storefront will seat approximately 28 guests and he is currently aiming to open the location some time this spring.

While the Broad Street store will be the second location for the franchisee, Armstead said he is also aiming to open two more stores in 2025, in Winchester and Pickerington.

The chain was established in 1997 and currently has over 1,300 locations throughout more than 40 U.S. states. Tropical Smoothie Cafe offers menu selections such as smoothie fruit bowls and drinkable smoothies, as well as a variety of food offerings. Some of the breakfast and lunch items include flatbreads, wraps, quesadillas and salads.
