A small town in Northwest Ohio is getting a coffee shop addition for the downtown.
A new business called Village Coffee House has been listed on social media, coming to 200 W Main Street, Suite B in Elida. The coffee shop will share space with The Story Room in the village’s downtown. An April opening date is expected.
The coffee shop is a project from Nathan Mailhot, a local of Lima. Mailhot also owns a business in the area selling used cars, and this is his first venture into the coffee industry. He has been planning on bringing the concept to the Elida community for around four-five months.
Mailhot said while the menu will feature coffees and espressos, other options like loose leaf teas and soft serve ice cream are also available. Staff are still experimenting with drinks to be served, so the full menu is not available yet.
Elida is just northwest of Lima and under two hours from Columbus. The coffee shop will be at the space directly next to The Story Room. Elida does not have many businesses in the downtown area, so this will be a destination for those looking to grab a coffee, meet a friend or study.
The business was officially registered on the Ohio Secretary of State’s website in October last year. For more information on Village Coffee House and the opening date, visit their Facebook page.
