The Dayton community will soon have a new spot to enjoy whiskey and a cigar, when 70/70 Social Club opens at 140 S Main St, in Springboro, according to a recent article. The lounge will be located in a 2,000 square foot space that was the home of a boutique and art gallery. What Now Columbus spoke with co-owner Zach Bailey who shared the anticipated opening timeline, the overall vibe of the establishment and what guests can expect of the decor.

According to Bailey, guests can expect “soft seating, an almost speakeasy vibe and a very relaxed and chill environment.” There will be casual seating inside, think leather tufted chairs and lounge couches, with tables and bar seating, all ideal for mingling. The capacity is roughly around 100 people between inside, plus additional outside seating. Bailey describes the interior as an intimate type of environment where people can relax and socialize without having to shout to be heard over music.

When it comes to cigar selections, guests will be able to find 1,500 cigars in the on-site humidor, and those cigars can be smoked on the patio, or taken to enjoy at home. The whiskey offerings will include Irish, Canadian and Tennessee whiskey, as well as scotch and bourbon. There will also be a few simple cocktails available, and wine and beers on tap. In terms of food, guests can order small, shareable bites such as shrimp cocktail and charcuterie boards.

Although he and his wife Casey are using The Century Bar in Dayton, which is a bourbon-focused bar with an old school vibe, as a point of inspiration for their business, the Baileys hope to create something similar, yet uniquely their own. When it comes to the aesthetic, the interior will feature darker colors and chandelier lighting that feels at once classy, yet inviting.

“It’s a little hard to explain because there’s nothing currently like it,” Bailey said.

Currently, the Baileys are shooting for opening before the end of the year.
