A Mediterranean grill is coming to the suburb near the Columbus Zoo.

It is being reported a new Zaytoon Mediterranean Grill will be arriving in Powell at 10726 Sawmill Parkway this year. This is the third Columbus-based restaurant from the company. Owner Mahmoud Jallaq told What Now Columbus the opening date is estimated to be sometime in May or June.

The Middle Eastern restaurant has been moving around the Columbus area, opening around 2020. Their current location is at 5450 Westpointe Drive in the plaza close to Five Below. They also expanded into the Budd Dairy Food Hall at 1086 N 4th Street in 2021.

Zaytoon’s name means “olive” in Arabic. The slogan on their website reads, “Fresh, healthy and customizable.” This is describing their bowl concept with a choice of meats, proteins, vegetable toppings and sauces.

Those who have been to Zaytoon know their signature bowls include the basmati rice, hummus and fries, and pita bowls. The Columbus location also serves salads, and sides like greek fries and kibbeh. Jallaq said the menu for the Powell restaurant will be the same setup.

Right now, the new location is under construction near the corner of Bradford Court. This is going in the same lot as the Target store in the retail center. A Skyline Chili location is also in the area near N Hampton Drive
