K-Town Hot Dogs is set to open soon in Fort Worth.

The Korean street food eatery is coming to 4940 Overton Ridge Blvd. A sign that recently went up in the window at the location reads “coming soon.” The space was previously home to Salon Melynde’s, a hair salon.

Korean street food, specifically its corn dogs, have been around forever, but the item has seen an increase in popularity in recent years. Bon Appetit declared 2021 to be “the year of the Korean corn dog” thanks, in part, to it becoming one of TikTok’s hottest trends. Now, Korean corn dog spots are popping up all over the States.

Although, there are currently not many places to get a Korean corn dog in Fort Worth. You’ll have to drive to Carrollton, Frisco or Irving if that’s what you’re craving. But that is likely to change soon. Along with K-Town, Oh K-Dog, a mini-chain known for its Korean rice hot dogs and egg toast, is expected to open a Fort Worth location sometime soon.

Korean corn dogs are made with hot dogs, rice cakes, fish cakes, or mozzarella cheese. They are then battered and deep fried, and in some places, finished off with sugar. You can then eat as is or with a condiment – ketchup, mayo, mustard, or a specialty sauce.
