McKinney diners, get ready to get toasted. Cheba Hut, the toasted sub concept that has already charmed the DFW across six locations, will be opening a new location in the area this summer, reports Community Impact.
The chain will be opening its seventh regional restaurant and making its McKinney debut at 4610 West University Drive, Suite 160. Documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show that work will commence on the project on May 1 of this year and should wrap by August 1. Franchisee Bhavik Bhatka projects a late 2025 opening for the McKinney Cheba Hut.
Described by the TDLR as “Building of new restaurant in grey shell space”, the storefront will provide Cheba Hut with 2,200 square feet to craft and serve its signature sandwiches.
Launched in 1998, Cheba Hut distinguishes itself in the crowded fast-casual scene through its selection of more than 30 signature subs. The McKinney location will also feature a craft beer bar for the 21-plus crowd. In addition to delicious food and good beer, the concept strives to create a memorable dining experience, enjoyed in a chill atmosphere. The website describes the company’s ethos, saying: “We combine homegrown food with real people in a relaxed environment.”
